Students enter the program by applying to and being accepted in a ‘home department’ – a department in which they will pursue disciplinary coursework and a related internship or laboratory experience. Students may pursue the Certificate through the Departments of Chemistry, Geology, Physics or Geography.
To apply, ALL students must:
- Complete an online application using Gradmit;
- Provide an official copy of transcripts from undergraduate institution;
- Submit a copy of their resume (field found in online application);
- GRE scores; and
- Provide a statement on career goals and objectives (field found in online application).
In addition, INTERNATIONAL students must ALSO provide:
- A copy of their current I20 (if already attending the University at Buffalo);
- Original financial statments; and,
- TOEFL scores.
Deadline for Submission:
We accept applications on a rolling basis. Students can begin the program in either the spring or fall semesters. For added convenience, many courses are offered during the day and evening.
Domestic students can submit applications up until the week before classes start.
